After holding several positions in the Sandoz Group – now Novartis – Christian Lajoux joined Sanofi in 1993. He was successively Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the French subsidiary, President Europe and President of all Sanofi activities in France.
He served three terms as President of the LEEM (the French trade association) between 2006 and 2012. He was President of the FEFIS (French Federation of Health Industries), and as such member of the Executive Committee of the MEDEF (the French Business Confederation), where he led the Health Committee, among others.
In 2016 and 2017, he chaired COPANEF (the Joint Committee for Employment and Training). He then became, as part of the rotation with the CFDT Trade Union, the Vice-President.
Christian Lajoux is currently President of the IFIS Healthcare Industries Training Institute. He became President of Medicen Paris Region on April 17, 2015.
He has been Chairman of the think tank Comité Carnot since 2014.

Leygues, a graduate in engineering from the Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences (AgroParisTech), started her career at the Alcimed consulting firm. There, she spent eight years developing new healthcare markets (biotech/medtech) for entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs and large corporations as well as for the public and parapublic innovation sector. Strongly committed to optimization initiatives for healthcare systems, Leygues then joined the pharmaceutical company Celgene, where she was responsible for an innovative partnership hub aimed at developing the healthcare value model.

Alain Khemili holds a Master’s degree in Physics and a DESS in Optical Optics from the University of Paris VII. He also holds an MBA in business management from IAE de Paris. He began his career in industry, where he worked in several operational positions, before joining the Comité Richelieu, a national association of innovative SMEs. In 2000, he moved to the AFNOR Group as Development Manager, before joining the consular network in 2008, with responsibility for a portfolio of activities including support for industry, support for innovation projects and support for economic intelligence initiatives. He joined Medicen in 2019 as Secretary General.
Sully Lebarbier has been an Executive Assistant for more than 20 years, of which 16 years in the healthcare sector. She has been providing support to Medicen management and to the extended team for almost 3 years. She is also available to our members to answer their requests.

Julie Baussand holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Paris VI. She devoted the first part of her career to medical research, first in INSERM laboratories in Paris, then at the Medical Research Council in London. She then joined Dassault Systèmes working with the public-private consortium BioIntelligence aimed at developing modelling and simulation applications for the discovery and development of new therapeutic molecules. After supporting pharmaceutical companies in their digital transformation and serving as a mentor within the incubator 3DExperience Lab, she joined Medicen in January 2020 to oversee Imaging.

Julien Ettersperger holds a PhD in immuno-oncology, which he completed in Dr. Nadine Cerf-Bensussan’s team at the Imagine Institute in Paris. He then undertook an MS in bio-entrepreneurship with the École Polytechnique and business school HEC Paris. One of the projects he worked on was the creation of the Smart Immune company, of which he then became Business Development Manager, before joining Medicen in March 2019.

Benjamin Boutot is an Arts et Métiers Engineer and holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Project Management from the University of Melbourne. He is passionate about medical devices. After a first experience in the development of innovative catheters, he became an entrepreneur working on a limb prostheses digital manufacturing project. Benjamin then consolidated his skills in R&D, industrialisation, regulatory and clinical affairs within the consulting company Efor Healthcare, where he acted as R&D Project Manager for Carmat during one of his assignments. He joined Medicen in October 2019, as Innovation Project Manager for Techno-therapies.

Eartha Madiba Din holds a Master’s degree in Science and Technology with a specialisation in biotechnologies from the UPMC-Sorbonne University, as well as a Master’s degree in Marketing Management from the ESSEC business school. She previously worked for the French Trade Office Business France from Chicago and Boston to support French SMEs in their approach of the North American market, specifically in the medtech and e-health areas. She then joined the iPEPS incubator at the Brain and Spine Institute, as Head of the digital health programme at STATION F. She worked with startups in e-health and contributed to the launch of the Pfizer Healthcare Hub France. Passionate about innovation in healthcare, she joined Medicen in December 2019, as Innovation Project Manager and coordinator of the Digital Health area.
Health Innovation Project Manager – Diagnostic
Etienne Lonchamp trained in biology and holds a doctorate in neurosciences from the University of Strasbourg. Etienne began his career at the National Cancer Institute (INCa) where he was in charge of the coordination of the network of molecular genetics of cancer platforms. In this context, he led the deployment of new companion tests in oncology and the implementation of high-throughput sequencing technologies in diagnostic laboratories. Etienne then joined Unicancer’s R & amp; D to manage translational research projects. In this context, he notably coordinated several large-scale projects, including one funded under the RHU program.He joined Medicen in 2021 as Innovation Diagnostic Project Manager.

Elodie Thierion did a thesis in genetics at ENS, followed by a post-doctorate at the University of Cambridge. There she discovered an example of technology transfer in oncology, which she will deepen in her thesis to obtain her diploma in the promotion of biomedical research at Sorbonne University. She then joined an innovation financing consulting firm where she supported start-ups, SMEs and large groups. On this occasion, she becomes familiar with the challenges of innovation and R&D in the health sector. She joined MEDICEN in June 2021.

Engineer in Chemical Engineering from ENSIACET Toulouse, Stephane started as a project manager in RHONE POULENC. Then he shifted to a plant manager role within RHODIA. After 7 years in industry, Stephane joined CLL Pharma and spent 10 years as Chief Operations Officer, supervising development of specialty pharmas products and developing business with major players worldwide. In 2016, Stephane set up ORPHIT, a biotech developping an immuno modulating small peptide at clinical stage in neurodegenerative diseases. In parallel, Stephane started as a free-lance consultant, developping crossfertilization between pharma players and digital health & AI startups.

After legal studies in European corporate law and several experiences in law firms and various companies, Aurélien Sève joined Medicen to lead the services offered to startups and SMEs. Together with all development actors (incubators, accelerators, French Tech, experts, investors, etc.), he has supported more than 150 companies in their fundraising process and worked to facilitate interactions between the different actors in healthcare innovation.

Adélaïde Larcher holds a Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications and Business Strategies, as well as a diploma in Health Innovation. She gained experience in various industries, working in marketing and business development positions. She joined Medicen in 2017 and has since then contributed to its promotion as well as business development. She is also in charge of the Alizé regional programme, designed to support the development of SMEs.

After studying economics and international relations, Mohand graduated from the Advanced Masters in Management of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical at Grenoble Ecole de Management. He joined the biopharmaceutical company Celgene where he was in charge of coordinating the activities of the internal innovation laboratory as well as the development of digital projects for patients, healthcare professionals and caregivers. Mohand then joined the market access team of Celgene and Bristol Myers Squibb to develop the reimbursement and pricing strategy for new drugs in hematology. In May 2021, he joined Medicen as Business Develpoment Project Lead.

Daniela Onofri holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Naples – Federico II and an MBA in International Project Management and Development from the Business School Sole 24 ORE in Rome, Italy. In 2017, she obtained a specialisation in European Studies and European Projects from the University of Cergy-Pontoise in France. She worked in the management of international cooperation projects for an NGO in Italy, before taking up the position of European Project Manager at Medicen in 2017, where she is in charge of European funding for the cluster and its ecosystem. Her main expertise is in project management and funding, with a special emphasis on the European region.

Blandine Hirtz holds a Master’s degree in Health Economics (medico-economic evaluation and market access) from the University of Paris-Dauphine and has developed a solid experience in health products market access. After one year working for the French subsidiary of the pharmaceutical company UCB in market access and drug reimbursement, she joined the Head Office in Belgium, gaining strong international experience. She then continued her career with the market access consultancy Partners4Access in London, before joining Medicen.
Pharmacist + MBA 34 years of experience within Sanofi, split into 20 years in Operation, as Region Head (North Africa, the Middle East, Turkey ) and 15 years in Business Development dedicated to Emerging Markets. Eric has created affiliates, partnership with either public or private entities, and concluded all types of licence agreement (R&D, Manufacturing, Commercialization) on all kind of Product (Biologic, small molecule, medical device, vaccin) as well as technology platform and App.
